Children's Windsor chairs

Up till now I have not advertised the fact that I do make children's Windsor chairs. But I have been getting so many requests for children's chairs that I have at last given in. I have only made patterns and formers for one style so far, but depending on demand......you never know. These chairs are built to exactly the same standards as the adult versions, they take almost as long to make, and because they are that much smaller, have little room for error, so I am determined that the recipients will be proud to pass them to future generations too. Due to product liability and safety issues I do not make children's high chairs.
A children's Windsor chair based on a low back (Yeoman's Bow) English design. The seat is 12 1/2 inches (32 cm) high and the width of the seat between the front arm supports is 11 inches (28cm). This size should be suitable for children up to about 7 or 8 years old, by which time they will be able to use adult chairs. Three carved initials in the upper part of the splat are included in the price.
This example is made all in Ash wood with an antiqued stain, shellac and wax finish.
