Traditional English style Windsor chairs
with pierced back splat and crinoline stretcher. I have
seen these called "Low Bow" or "Yeoman's
Bow" chairs.
Another very comfortable style, just like Granny used
to have in front of the fire. This example made of Ash,
with an Elm seat, with a stain, shellac (french polish)
and hot wax antiqued finish.
I can't make these in Oak because the arm bend is too
extreme.
There are many styles of dining chair I can make to
complement this design. Please see further down this page
for some examples.

English style high back carver with
pierced splat, curved arm supports and crinoline
stretcher. This one is probably many people's idea of a
classic English Windsor Chair.
The seat is deeper than the Yeoman's Bow above. This
chair is made from Ash with an Elm seat, although an Ash
seat would be fine too. It is finished with antiqued
stain, shellac and wax.

Another style of high back carver with
pierced splat, turned arm supports and crinoline
stretcher. This one has a similar shaped seat to the
Yeoman's bow shown at the top of the page. Two of these
and four or six Low Back carvers makes a stunning dining
set!
This chair is made from Ash with an Ash seat. It is
finished with light Oak stain, and wax.
Price is the same as the high back carver above. Price list
English style dining chair with
simple bow and crinoline stretcher.
These can be made with turnings to match the carver
shown above (or vice versa I suppose). This one is made
of Ash, with a shellac finish. The seat size is 16 inches.

The chair is made of Ash wood with an Ash seat. The
finish is stain, shellac and wax. The boss in the middle
of the splat can be customised to your own requirements,
as this one was.
