The Count House is a Devon holiday cottage
situated in the beautiful sheltered valley of the river
Tamar, six miles from the ancient market town of
Tavistock, in Devonshire, which is in the South West
corner of England.
The Tamar Valley, with its outstanding scenery, which
has been designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty' forms the boundary between Devon and Cornwall.
The holiday cottage is in an ideal location for exploring
Dartmoor National Park, the North and South Devon and
Cornwall coastlines, with their spectacular cliffs and
popular beaches, and Bodmin Moor. Information is provided
giving details of the many places of interest, historic
sites, pubs, restaurants, theatres and sports facilities.

The Count House was formerly the mine office of the
'Devon Great United' copper mine, and the local area
abounds in remains of interest to the industrial
archaeologist. The holiday cottage itself provides an
ideal retreat for country lovers, and for anyone wanting
a quiet, restful holiday.
The self contained accommodation has been decorated
and furnished to a high standard. It is centrally heated
and comfortable, even the bathroom is warm! The lounge
has a woodburning stove, and colour TV. The well equipped
kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, fridge and
automatic washing machine. The one bedroom has a double
bed, and an extra single bed can be provided for the
lounge if required. A lobby has space for outdoor kit.
The large garden is a real sun trap, facing south, and is
sheltered from most cold weather in the winter.
Electricity, logs, bedlinen (duvets) and towels are all
included in the rent. More
